The FGSE provides doctoral training leading to one of the following four degrees :

• PhD in Geography
• PhD in Earth Sciences
• PhD in Environmental Sciences/Studies
• PhD in Tourism Studies

Attachment/Research Institutes

Each of our doctoral students is attached to one of the following three institutes (and to a research group within that institute):

• Institute of Earth Surface Dynamics (IDYST)
• Institute of Geography and Sustainability (IGD)
• Institute of Earth Sciences (ISTE)

The Faculty has no doctoral school of its own and therefore does not impose a defined curriculum. It is, however, active in several doctoral schools run jointly with other universities and institutions, from which our doctoral students can benefit.

These projects offer doctoral students additional training, guidance, seminars and meetings promoting an exchange of ideas and interdisciplinary approache.
