ARCHIVE - Indo-Swiss Joint Research Programme in the Social Sciences

Framework

In 2008, the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation launched several Bilateral Programmes to Promote Research Cooperation with Priority Countries. Each programme is managed by a Swiss university acting as "Leading House".

Until end 2016, the Swiss side of the bilateral programme with India was managed by EPFL as Leading House, and UNIL as Associate Leading House. As from 2017, the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) is in charge of the bilateral programme with India (see below). Activities launched before 2017 will be managed by the University of Lausanne up to their completion.

Leading House South Asia and Iran (2017- )

The Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) is Leading House for South Asia and Iran.

Indo-Swiss Joint Research Programme in the Social Sciences (2012-2016)

In 2008, 2009, and 2010 UNIL as Associate Leading House has launched unilateral calls of proposals for research projects with India.

In 2012, UNIL (as Associate Leading House) and the Indian Council for Social Science Research (ICSSR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding and launched the Indo-Swiss Joint Research Programme in the Social Sciences.

As from 2017, the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) is in charge of the bilateral programme with India (see above). The activities launched before 2017 (see below) will be managed by the University of Lausanne up to their completion.
