The Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research is an international community of distinguished scientists dedicated to preventing and controlling cancer.
Its presence in Lausanne dates back to 1971 when the expertise available in the region's leading academic and scientific institutions drew the American foundation to enter into an alliance.
In 2015, this confidence was confirmed by a further 30-year commitment of the Ludwig, to Lausanne and its oncology research community.
Working within the Ludwig alliance offers our department the resources and the flexibility to undertake inherently complex projects and challenges which call for secure funding if they are to succeed in altering the course of cancer.
The specific mission of the Lausanne branch within this global community is to boost fundamental and translational research in immuno-oncology and immune engineering with the aim of developing disruptive, impactful immunotherapies for cancer patients.
