Sebastian Wuschka is a research fellow with the research platform on "Tax Disputes and Investment and Commercial Arbitration", launched by the Tax Policy Center and the Center of Comparative, European and International Law of the University of Lausanne.

Sebastian has significant experience in investment arbitration and public international law matters. As a member of the arbitration team at German law firm Luther, he has assisted both corporate investors and state-owned enterprises with their investment disputes. In addition, he has been involved in multiple commercial arbitrations under the arbitration rules of e.g. the ICC and DIS.

Sebastian's expertise further covers questions of public international law more broadly. He has co-edited two books ("Investments in Conflict Zones", Brill 2020, and "Zeit und Internationales Recht", Mohr Siebeck 2019) and published articles or book chapters in the area of arbitration but also general international law, humanitarian law as well as human rights law.

A lawyer admitted to the German bar, Sebastian completed his bar qualification traineeship with the Higher Regional Court of Hamburg. During that time, he inter alia also worked on international law and EU law matters at Germany's Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency, on human rights law questions relating to mineral supply chains at the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) and with the arbitration practice of Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP in Washington, D.C.

An associated member of Ruhr-University Bochum's Institute for the International Law of Peace and Armed Conflict, Sebastian has served as a visiting lecturer at Ruhr-University Bochum, the University of Hamburg as well at Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. He studied law in Bochum (Dipl. Jur., 2012) and Geneva (MIDS LL.M., 2014) and holds certificates in both private and public international law from the Hague Academy of International Law (2014 and 2017). He is currently completing his doctorate at Ruhr-University Bochum.
