la Faculté des sciences sociales et politiques, et de l'Institut des sciences socialesBIONOTE: After receiving her B.A's in 1994 from the Psychology and Political Science & International Relations (Joint Degree Program) Departments at Bogazici University, Ayse went to the U.S. and received her Master's and Ph.D. degrees from the Human Development & Family Studies Department at Penn State University (with a minor in Women's Studies). Between 2006-2013, Ayse worked as an Assistant Professor at Towson University, in the Women's & Gender Studies Department, where, as the Women's Health & Sexuality Concentration Coordinator, she advised master's theses, developed and taught undergraduate and graduate courses on women's health, women and medicine, women's sexuality, reproductive technologies and women's health policies, and conducted as Principal Investigator, interdisciplinary research/advocacy projects on Afro-American women and HIV, and Latina and African women and domestic violence. In addition to her academic position, Ayse has also been active in civil society arena. She founded in 2007 the international women's organization called the Center for Transnational Women's Issues and acts as its Collective Board Member. She most recently worked as the Acting Chair and Assistant Professor of Psychology in Istanbul 29 Mayis University. Ayse Dayi's research interests are in women's health, health psychology, medical sociology, sexual and reproductive health rights, health services and policies, neoliberal globalization and health, transnational feminism, post-structural theory and qualitative methods. She has publications on women's health, medicalization and health policies.
