Brooke Erin Duffy is assistant professor in the department of communication at Cornell University, and the author of (Not) getting paid to do what you love: Gender, social media, and aspirational work (Yale University Press, 2017). She conducts research at the intersection of media, culture, and technology; her interests include social media production; media and creative industries; digital labor; and gender and feminist media studies. She holds a Ph.D. in communication from the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication.
