Heavy precipitation and flood risk in Switzerland: The case of November 2023 and a climate change perspective

On the 15th of November 2023, the Arve River reached its highest ever discharge recorded in Geneva. In this presentation, we will return to this weather situation to understand its genesis and discuss the warnings issued on that day. In a second part, we will discuss how climate change can affect the risk of flooding in Switzerland, especially during the autumn season.
