Our doctoral school, one of the best in Europe, produces graduates who successfully compete in the international academic market, research institutes, research-oriented international organizations (e.g. the World Bank or IMF), and the research departments of large banks and consulting/auditing firms. With that objective in mind, we will equip you with cutting-edge training though a rich offering of doctoral courses, both in-house and in partner institutions. We’ll also train you to communicate effectively your research results.
Thesis work is geared toward the production of working papers for submission to high-level academic journals. For instance, our Ph.D students have had thesis papers accepted in top-ranked journals like the Academy of Management Journal, the Journal of Economic Theory, the Review of Financial Studies or the Journal of Political Economy.
Admission into the program is highly competitive; however, once in, we encourage collaboration between Ph.D students, e.g. in the form of jointly-authored papers. The atmosphere is congenial and supportive in seminars, workshops and informal interaction with other graduate students and faculty. You will enjoy close and supportive thesis supervision by faculty at the frontier of research in their fields and with an open-door culture for graduate students.
Everything is set up to ensure that all reach the finish line within the set period of five years; for instance, we offer highly generous stipends and financing for conference presentations abroad.
