How can we leverage emerging digital technologies to contribute to public values such as stable democracy, fairness, and sustainability? How can digital platforms enhance resilience during crises? How can interorganizational information systems foster collaboration and drive innovation across sectors?
In her current research, Prof. Liudmila Zavolokina investigates the design and use of digital platforms, emerging technologies like blockchain and AI, and interorganizational information systems, all aimed at creating public value. Prof. Zavolokina is committed to advancing the information systems field by developing innovative digital solutions to tackle complex real-world problems and creating design knowledge useful for organizations, individuals, and society.
Prof. Zavolokina holds a PhD in Information Systems from the University of Zurich. Before joining the University of Lausanne, she was a postdoctoral researcher and a group leader at the University of Zurich’s Digital Society Initiative. She was a visiting researcher at the University of Luxembourg (2021) and the University of Sydney (2023). She also spent several years working in industry in roles at the intersection of IT and business at Ergon Informatik AG and CRIF.
