Eligibility criteria

When projects are submitted, their eligibility criteria are checked before they are submitted for strategic and scientific evaluation.

Administrative checks

  •     Compliance with framework conditions
  •     Ethical integrity
  •     Strict data protection
  •     Consideration of intellectual property issues
  •     No pursuit of commercial interests, if any are announced
  •     Minimum terms of engagement

 

Selection criteria

Projects are then subject to strategic and scientific evaluation. The criteria are as follows for the Proxima projects (Rolling Call), and will be adapted for the Synergo and Volteface projects, which nevertheless pursue the same objectives:

Strategic evaluation

  •     Quality of the partnership: match between the field of scientific research and social need
  •     Relevance of the research to the partner
  •     Thematic or collaborative originality
  •     Use of deliverables by the partner
  •     Budgetary feasibility and appropriateness of budget allocation
  •     Value-added potential for UNIL

 

Scientific evaluation

The scientific evaluation is anonymous for the evaluators.

  •     Scientific scope and relevance
  •     Theoretical quality and originality
  •     Methodological quality and originality
  •     Project feasibility

Evaluation scale

The evaluation scale is as follows. It is based on the SNSF evaluation scale to which researchers are accustomed.

5 - Convincing in all relevant aspects. Almost no weak points.

4 - Convincing in most relevant aspects. Few weaknesses clearly identified.

3 - Convincing in several relevant aspects. Some clearly identified weaknesses.

2 - Some strengths in relevant aspects. Several clearly identified weaknesses.

1 - Few or no strengths identified in relevant aspects. Many serious weaknesses.
