The University of Lausanne manages only the first year of the Bachelor in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
After succeeding the exams of the first year (60 ECTS credits), the students pursue their programme at the University of Geneva (Section of the pharmaceutical sciences). They can also continue their studies at the ETHZ (in Zurich), at the University of Basel or at the University of Bern.
Bachelor degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences permits the student admission to the Master degree programme in pharmacy, which lasts two years. The Master degree in pharmacy enables sitting the federal exam, which leads to the pharmacist federal diploma. The Master degree in pharmacy also allows one to carry out a doctorate.

It is the responsibility of each student to register for a course at an accredited organization.
The Swiss Samaritan Alliance centralizes the course offer. This course must be completed before taking the 3rd year exam and the certificate must be submitted before the winter exam session.
It is organised by pharmaSuisse, the Swiss Society of Pharmacists.
From the year 2023-2024, the modalities of this internship are changing. This compulsory 2-week internship must be completed during pharmacy studies. The new conditions apply to all students registered in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of the Bachelor's program as of fall 2023 and who have not yet completed their introductory internship by that date.
