Description: With intercultural exchange playing as important a role as academic and human exchanges, the Swiss Asian Summer School 2015 was the occasion to discuss and share with doctoral candidates representing a great richness in terms of points of view and approaches. 

Sun Yat Sen University in Guangzhou, China, excelled in their first time hosting the Swiss-Asian Summer School (SASS) in Public Administration, both in terms of welcome and organization. Special lectures offered insights into the Swiss and Chinese political systems, Chinese policy diffusion and deregulation, and Chinese culture and traditions. Student participation was very active throughout the academic program, which was structured around five thematic panels:  

  • Accountability and transparency 
  • Citizen participation and local governance 
  • Globalization and the quest for good governance 
  • Place branding and public marketing 
  • Public branding.
