This certificate is organised around three consecutive modules/weeks of blended learning, each under the responsibility of one of the schools of the Faculty of Law, Criminal Justice and Public Administration of the University of Lausanne:
• The ecosystem of global sport (under the responsibility of the School of Public Administration IDHEAP)
• Laws of global sport (under the responsibility of the School of Law)
• Challenges in global sport (under the responsibility of the School of Criminal Justice)
Each module is composed of one week of teaching (face-to-face or online) under the responsibility of UNIL professors who can invite guest lecturers among academics, practitioners and officials from sport-governing bodies.
During each module, visits to important sports organisations will be organized (such as International Olympic Committee, Court of Arbitration for Sport, UEFA and others). The teaching is in English. Participants are encouraged to study and present at the end of the course a case of global sport regulation in order to obtain the certificate of advanced studies attached to the course (15 ECTS credits).
• to know the different global sport stakeholders, their autonomy and their collaborative governance, and the peculiar ecosystem in which they take part,
• to understand the global sporting regulations based on domestic, European and international (hard) laws, and/or transnational sporting rules (soft laws),
• to reflect upon the possible evolution of global sport regulations thanks to the models and current issues facing global sport presented in the course.
The programme is intended for participants who have a first university degree in a relevant field, or who manage (units of) global sport organisations and are faced with the challenges of global sport involving domestic (hard) laws and transnational sporting codes (soft laws).
The CAS ReGS prepares its participants to become highly skilled experts and managers of global sport in international organisations, multinational companies, law !rms, courts, consultancies, NGOs and academia.
CAS ReGS credits can be recognised into the UNIL LL.M. programme in International Business Law.
Admission are ruled by the scientific committee on a first come first served basis for qualified applicants. Participants must be fluent in English. Knowledge of French is a plus. See the regulation (in French) of the CAS Regulation of Global Sport.
