Dr. Estefania Amer, senior lecturer and researcher affiliated to HEC Research Center for Grand Challenges, has published a new report entitled “The Integration of Sustainability in Business Education”. This study has been funded by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Switzerland and WWF Switzerland.
This report covers the eco-socio-literacy and the key competencies that students require to address sustainability challenges, with a focus on business schools. It also discusses the central role of emotions in sustainability education. Moreover, it describes the necessary implementation processes at different levels to integrate sustainability in business schools’ education, highlights the barriers, and provides some recommendations.
Simon Zysset, project leader at WWF, states: “I am impressed by this article: It consistently summarizes the relevant aspects, levels, and contexts for implementing sustainable development in universities and study programs. The focus on emotions and values is particularly interesting for us, as we also consider these central and would like to get more involved.”
