Professor John Antonakis, from the Department of Organizational Behaviour, has been named as one of the most cited academics in the business and management field, placing him among the top 2% leading academics in the world, by the journal PLOS Biology.
The journal PLOS Biology, which specialises in biological topics, has published an article on the impact of career citations for all researchers in all disciplines from 1960 to 2019. The research team examined the total collective impact of academics, using standardized citation metrics to compare outcomes across different disciplines. The result was a list of the best academics from 174 different fields, taking differences in citation practices into account. John Antonakis was thus identified, along with eight other researchers based in Switzerland, as the one of the most-cited academics in the business and management field. The ranking places Prof. Antonakis among the top 2% of leading academics in his discipline in the world.
"It is heartwarming to see that following one's passion--doing good science--can translate into something I never chased: Awards. It is important to note, however, that none of this would have happened had I not had great colleagues and doctoral students at HEC Lausanne who have taught me so much.", comments Prof. Antonakis.
HEC Lausanne congratulates him on his achievement!
