Lemanic animal facility network (ResAL)

What is the ResAL?

The ResAL (Réseau des Animaleries Lémaniques) is a network organized by academic institutions in the cantons of Vaud and Geneva (University of Lausanne, University of Geneva, Polytechnical Federal School of Lausanne, University Hospital of Vaud and University Hospital of Geneva). The ResAL coordinates and optimizes regional training courses, animal facility management, and communication to support the individuals involved in animal experimentation within these institutions. These efforts are crucial for ensuring that the scientific research conducted using animal models is carried out in an ethical and responsible manner, taking into consideration the welfare of the animals involved. This commitment to education and collaboration helps maintain the high standards of research and animal care in Switzerland.
 


Since its establishment in 2004, the ResAL groups the following animal facilities:

  • Animal facitlity of Life Science Faculty of EPFL at Ecublens
  • Animal facilities of  UNIL at Dorigny, Bugnon and Epalinges
  • Animal facilities of CHUV at Bugnon, Epalinges and Cery
  • Animal facilities of UNIGE at CMU and Sciences
  • Animal facility of HUG at CMU
  • Animal facility of Campus Biotech
