The Federal Council has announced the immediate lifting of the COVID-19 pandemic control measures.
The UNIL Rectorate provides you with a range of digital learning tools such as Moodle or Zoom. You will find here a set of guides, tutorials and good advice to help you in their use.
For group work
Microsoft Teams is a collaborative tool that already allows you to chat, create virtual communities, share documents and collaborate as a team in a synchronous or asynchronous way. In view of the start of the new academic year, it has been enriched with new functionalities. You can now :
You must use your UNIL usernames and passwords to use Teams and all Microsoft online services.
Zoom and Ubicast are used to broadcast your lessons live. Your teachers can also record and stream them.
The IT Centre helpdesk is at your disposal for any further information you may require.
Matlab, as well as other softwares, are available to students in the computer classrooms. However, with the closing of the campus, physical access to these rooms is limited.
Other options : Octave, directly compatible with most simple Matlab scripts, is the closest alternative to Matlab. Increasingly popular, the Julia programming language, which is located between Matlab and R software, is another possibility.
The softwares available to students for their personal machine can be found here: https://www.unil.ch/ci/distrisoft (softwares with a green view on the students' line).
Your teachers have worked hard to adapt their teaching to the current situation and the use of distance education technologies, sometimes with varying degrees of success. They have the possibility to ask the Teaching Support Centre to send you an interim evaluation questionnaire in order to obtain your opinion on their course in its current form, your possible needs and suggestions for improvement.
If so, you will receive an e-mail from the Teaching Support Centre inviting you to fill in an online questionnaire anonymously. Help your teachers to help you in your learning by constructively raising your difficulties and suggesting solutions!
