Since 1981, the Department of Actuarial Science (DSA) of HEC Lausanne, University of Lausanne, continues with the long tradition of actuarial education and research of the School.
The Department provides an academic environment that covers a broad range of topics, as risk theory, credibility theory and pension funds. It also draws a bow to financial mathematics. The Department publishes scientific papers of high quality and keeps close and numerous contacts to the best researchers all over to world and also to the insurance industry.
The actuarial education is both provided on a Master and PhD level. The research activities cover traditional actuarial questions as well as current problems related to theoretical and practical applications.
