Our aim is to explore contemporary issues in couple and family research and test our hypotheses scientifically. We are currently seeking answers to questions such as: What are the repercussions of marital and coparenting conflict on children? What happens to families who conceive using assisted reproductive technology? What role do parents play in adolescents' identity-building, empowerment, and risky behaviors? How do families cope with having a child with a chronic illness? What dynamics are specific to blended families?
We employ a wide range of quantitative and qualitative techniques in our research. They allow us to describe dynamics in large groups, carry out detailed analysis on a subset of that group, for example by observing family interactions, or document and track how patients respond to couple or family therapy.
