Prices for FIL services, including course materials, are as follows:
Complete beginner course: CHF 970.-
Intensive course: CHF 1270.-
Semi-intensive course: CHF 970.-
Exams for the Certificat of Qualification in French (CQF) : CHF 350.-. If registration for the CQF exams is combined with registration for the intensive course, a discount of CHF 50.- is granted on registration.
Students enrolled at the University of Lausanne in the semester preceding and/or directly following the course can benefit from a 30% discount on the presentation of a valid registration attestation. The discount does not apply to registration for the CQF exams. Participants register and pay the full price. Upon presentation of the registration certificate, UNIL will reimburse the price difference, i.e. :
CHF 290.- for the complete Beginner course, for a final price of CHF 680.-
CHF 380.- for the intensive course, for a final price of CHF 890.-
CHF 290.- for the semi-intensive course, for a final price of CHF 680.-
Are you just starting to learn french?
The complete beginners course allows you to take your first steps in French, accompanied by specialist teachers for complete beginners, in a caring and secure atmosphere to facilitate your first contact with French and French-speaking environment.
The morning
You meet your teacher and class every morning from Monday to Friday.
The afternoon
Your afternoons are free. You can participate in optional outings organized on certain afternoons to discover Lausanne and the surrounding area, and make new contacts.

You are A0 CEFR level and have never taken a complete beginner's course at the FIL de EFLE.
You are alphabetized and have a good knowledge of the latin alphabet.
You will have reached the age of 17 by the start of the course ; for participants under 18, please provide a letter of authorization to attend the course, signed by the legal representative.

Would you like to improve your French intensively while keeping your afternoons free?
The semi-intensive course allows you to make rapid progress in a class adapted to your level.
The morning
You deepen your skills in spoken and written French through language activities organized in didactic sequences, by attending specific workshops (from A2 level), or you choose to improve your academic writing and reading skills with the Introduction to academic texts option (from B1 level).
The afternoon
Your afternoons are free. You can take part in optional outings organized on certain afternoons to discover Lausanne and the surrounding area, and make new contacts.
You are beginner, intermediate, or advanced in French (minimum pre-A1 level acquired according to the CEFR).
You will have reached the age of 17 by the start of the course ; for participants under 18, please provide a letter of authorization to attend the course, signed by the legal representative.
If you complete 80% of the course, you receive an attestation of attendance showing the CEFR level and the content of the teaching, as well as the number of teaching hours.

Would you like to make the most of your immersion in a French-speaking environment?
That is what the intensive course is all about. It combines the semi-intensive course with Mutual Contextual Learning (EMC), which helps you the best to prepare the Certificate of Qualification in French.
This course provides a rate and 5 ECTS credits, which validity depends on study plans of each institution/faculty.
The morning
You deepen your skills in spoken and written French through language activities organized in didactic sequences, by attending specific workshops (from A2 level), or you choose to improve your academic writing and reading skills with the Introduction to academic texts option (from B1 level).
The afternoon
In EMC courses, you benefit from teaching in small-group, and from guided autonomy activities during afternoon. You can also take part in optional outings organized on certain afternoons to discover Lausanne and the surrounding area, and make new contacts.
You are familiar enough with French, both orally and in writing, to carry out tasks in autonomy and write independent work (minimum level A1 acquired according to the CEFR).
You will have reached the age of 17 by the start of the course ; for participants under 18, please provide a letter of authorization to attend the course, signed by the legal representative.
If 80% of the morning course has been attended, and you have obtained an average of 4.0 out of 6.0 in the EMC activities, you receive an attestation of completion showing the level and content of the course, the number of teaching hours, the average rate obtained in EMC assignments and the number of ECTS credits obtained.
If you do not achieve an average of 4.0 but have 80% attendance in the morning course, you will receive an attestation of attendance showing the CEFR level and content of the morning course, as well as the number of teaching hours.
