The Stem Cell & Organoid Facility (SCOF) is an FBM platform located at DNF. It offers cutting-edge technological equipments to UNIL researchers for the culture, analysis and characterization of stem cell and organoids. SCOF offers services and specialized training to drive groundbreaking discoveries in the biomedical field.
The development of organoids allows modeling of complex human diseases, exploring basic cellular mechanisms, and testing of new treatments. Organoid cultures are particularly interesting for neuroscience research, as they enable the creation of brain organoids to counter the inaccessibility of the human brain, offering a unique window on brain development, function and dysfunction.
