• Katia's research focuses on the impact of myopia on brain structure and function, including sensation, perception, and cognition. Her work involves a combination of psychophysics, electroencephalography, and magnetic resonance imaging.
• Katia also spearheads the Escolhares project. Their mission is to provide free eye exams and eyeglasses to schoolchildren in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
