Dr. Pascal Favrod-Coune

Pascal Favrod-Coune is an attorney at law who practices mainly in the fields of banking and financial law, corporate law and mergers and acquisitions, as well as in the field of new technologies law (in particular Fintech). He is also active in the fields of data protection and intellectual property law.

In parallel to his activity as an attorney at law, Dr. Favrod-Coune is a lecturer at the University of Lausanne where he teaches the Finance, Law and Digitalization course in the Master in Law and Economics. He is also an associate at the Center for blockchains technologies of the University College London.

Dr. Favrod-Coune holds a Bachelor of Law and a Master of Law (summa cum laude, Commune d’Ecublens Award), a Ph.D. in Law (summa cum laude, Walther Hug Award and Charles-Philippe Mercier Award) from the University of Lausanne, and a LL.M. from the London School of Economics. During the writing of his Ph.D. thesis on the legal aspects of crowdfunding, he has been a visiting scholar at the University of California in Berkeley and the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg.

His expertise and research interests cover financial regulation, digital and IP/IT law, commercial law, and contracts law. Dr. Favrod-Coune regularly gives lectures and publishes in his fields, in particular in Fintech and DLT law and regulation.
