ETC Group : Action Group on Erosion, Technology and Concentration
ETC group -formerly known as RAFI- is an international civil society organisation based in Canada. It supports socially responsible developments of emerging technologies. In the summer 2002, ETC group urged governments to establish a moratorium on the commercialisation of new products containing engineered nanoparticles. Indeed, the NGO stated that hundreds of products have been commercialised despite the fact that there was a regulatory and standards vacuum and that toxicological studies were missing. Different reports from ETC group are devoted to social and economical impacts of nanotechnology.
