Postdoc Position in Molecular Plant Sciences

A postdoc position is open in the Nawrath group of the Department of Plant Molecular Biology (DBMV) at the University of Lausanne. The DBMV regroups 9 laboratories dedicated to the study of plants from a cellular and molecular perspective. With a total of more than 75 collaborators, our department represents one of the largest groups of scientists in molecular plant sciences in Switzerland.

The research in the group of Christiane Nawrath is aimed on the characterization of genes involved in the formation and function of the plant cuticle and other protective barriers of the apoplast of different cell types. The topic of the proposed project aims at exploring the relation of lipid polyesters with other components of the apoplast to form barriers of defined properties in Arabidopsis.

Highly motivated researchers that are interested in taking a combined approach using diverse techniques, including confocal fluorescence microscopy, confocal RAMAN spectroscopy, Atomic Force Microscopy, genetics and molecular biology to answer questions in cuticle research are encouraged to apply. PhD or equivalent in molecular plant sciences is essential, experience with some of the above-mentioned techniques is desirable.

Applications including a CV, a letter of motivation and information for 2 reference persons should be send to Dr. Christiane Nawrath, Department of Plant Molecular Biology at the University of Lausanne (christiane.nawrath@unil.ch). Applications are
evaluated continuously. 80-100% position, starting date flexible, but contract cannot be extended beyond July 2027.
