Two postdoctoral positions on phosphate transport and homeostasis in the Golgi

Two postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Prof. Yves Poirier at the Department of Plant Molecular Biology of the University of Lausanne. The research projects are aimed at discovering genes and mechanisms involved in the regulation of phosphate transport and homeostasis in the Golgi and associated organelles. 

One postdoc will be responsible for developing and using genetically encoded fluorescent biosensors to understand the contribution of key genes, including PHO1 and ERD1, on phosphate homeostasis in the Golgi.  Such work will be done principally in Arabidopsis but will also use Sacccharomyces cerevisae. We are looking for a highly motivated scientist with strong expertise in confocal microscopy, including FRET, and ideally with direct experience with fluorescent biosensors.

The second postdoc will be focusing on understanding the role of novel genes involved in Golgi phosphate homeostasis identified through mutagenesis and gene mapping in Arabidopsis. Strong expertise in molecular genetics and biochemistry of solute transporter is highly valued.  

Starting date will ideally be in the first part of 2024 and funding for both positions is available until the end of 2027.
