Future of Digital Technologies Law Clinic and Moot Court, Lyon

DESCRIPTION

The Future of Digital Technologies Virtual Law Clinic is organised by the Catholic University of Lyon (UCLy) in collaboration with other universities including the University of Lausanne.

The course aims to offer a unique learning experience to students who will have the opportunity to take part in a scenario supervised by professionals. This context is based on the expectations arising from the most promising technological developments, and the proposed scenarios are designed with the support of companies or research teams working on these topics. This virtual situation leads to a legal case that will be dealt with by teams of students, some acting as attorneys of the parties and some as a court. Each exercise will be supervised by a teaching team composed of professors, lawyers and judges.

The Clinic is a tool for “experimental law”, i.e. proposing a near-to-real-life test for situations that could emerge in the future and allowing for the identification of potential difficulties and new areas for legal research.
