Philip Lindholm is a postdoctoral researcher and temporary lecturer at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. He completed his PhD, entitled Synaesthesia in British Romantic Poetry, in 2018 at the University of Lausanne. His work is located at a mid-way between Romantic science and literature and focuses on the senses and the embodied imagination. His current interdisciplinary research project explores the creative engagement with volcanoes and the emerging Earth sciences in European Romantic poetry in the context of international aesthetic and intellectual crosscurrents of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. He is part of the international “Poetry in Notions” project funded by a Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) Sinergia grant, which is currently developing the "The Online Critical Compendium of Lyric Poetry" (https://www.poetry-in-notions.net/), the first open access digital platform for the theory of lyric poetry.
