Temporal and spatial regulation of the bacterial cell cycle

Justine_home.jpg

We are broadly interested in understanding how the bacterial cell cycle is controlled so that bacteria replicate their chromosome and divide at the right timing and with accuracy. We are also studying how bacterial cells adjust their cell cycles to adapt to diverse environmental conditions or lifestyles. We use cell biology, genetics, genomics and biochemistry on model Alphaproteobacteria to address these fundamental questions.
