Culture and Education

This IDHEAP unit also hosts the Observatoire romand de la culture (ORC—French-speaking Switzerland’s Observatory of Culture), a research institute jointly financed by Switzerland’s seven predominantly French-speaking cantons (CIIP/CDAC), the University of Lausanne (UNIL), the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland (the HES-SO), and 14 towns and cities in French-speaking Switzerland (Bienne, Delémont, Fribourg, Geneva, La Chaux-de-Fonds, Lausanne, Meyrin, Morges, Neuchâtel, Nyon, Renens, Sion, Vevey and Yverdon-les-Bains).

The unit also represents IDHEAP and UNIL within the FORDIF consortium, the organisation that ensures continuing education (via CAS, DAS and MAS programmes) for the directors and managers of French-speaking Switzerland’s training institutions. This role has been mandated to it by the Conférence intercantonale de l'instruction publique de la Suisse romande et du Tessin (CIIP—French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino’s Inter-Cantonal Conference on Public Education).
