Véronique Comte-Miserez
Véronique obtained a master’s in biology in 1988 from the University of Neuchâtel, studying Lyme disease in Ticino with Prof. Aeschlimann’s group. Then she joined the lab of Prof. Matthieu, University of Lausanne (1989-92) to study de-and remyelination processes in aggregating brain cell culture model. From 2004 she works as a technician, in Prof. Mayer’s group, University of Lausanne, focusing on SNAREs and V-ATPase in membrane fusion/fission and on phosphate regulation in yeast.
Maria Giovanna De Leo
Maria Giovanna De Leo obtained in 2008 her Master of Science degree in Industrial Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at University of Salento. In the same year she also got the qualification for the profession of nutritionist biologist at the University of Salento. Then, in 2015 she received her PhD from Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine in Italy in collaboration with the Open University in UK for her work on understanding the protein-protein interaction network for kidney human inherited disorders in the laboratory of Antonella De Matteis. After she moved to the University of Lausanne for a post-doctoral fellowship in Andreas Mayer’s laboratory, where in 2021 she got the position as researcher. Her current research focuses on the membrane fission and regulation in mammalian endo-lysosomal system.
Navin Gopaldass
Navin Gopaldass studied chemistry at EPFL. He then did a PhD in the lab of Thierry Soldati at the university of Geneva working on membrane trafic during phagocytosis. He joined the lab in 2012 as a postdoc and is now a research associate.
Muhammed Jamsheer Kaithakkal
Jamsheer received a Ph.D. studying plant nutrient signaling networks in 2017 from NIPGR, New Delhi. He received an independent early career fellowship (DST-INSPIRE) in 2018 from DST India to investigate the nutrient-sensing mechanisms in eukaryotes. He joined our lab in 2021 to study the INPHORS pathway in yeast.
Geundon Kim
Geundon Kim obtained his Ph.D. in Life Science from Korea University in 2018. After completing his doctorate, he joined the lab of Prof. Mayer at the University of Lausanne. His research passion lies in unraveling the regulatory mechanism of phosphate homeostasis, with a specific emphasis on metabolites. Through his work, he aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of this vital biological process and its implication.
Matthias Kuenzle
Matthias Künzle finished his Msc in Biological Chemistry at the ETH Zurich in 2013. He then graduated in Nanochemistry in 2019 from the RWTH Aachen University working on nanostructured biohybrid materials made from protein crystals and inorganic nanoparticles. He joined our lab as Postdoc in 2021 to investigate phosphate homeostasis with a special focus on phosphate export in yeast.
Lydie Michaillat Mayer Lydie Michaillat Mayer obtained her Master degree in Biochemistry in 2005 from the University of Geneva and her PhD in life sciences from the University of Lausanne in 2009 that she did in the labo of Andreas Mayer. Since then she is working in the lab as Research Associate to investigate different topics related phosphates homeostasis. |
Ana Catarina Alves
Ana Catarina Alves obtained her PhD. in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2017 from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto (Portugal) where she studied membrane biophysics. She joined Prof. Horst Vogel lab at EPFL (2017-2018) to work with exosomes. In 2018, she joined our lab to investigate membrane fusion and the retrograde trafficking in yeast.
