Participants choosing to follow only the core courses in public administration, made up of six modules of six days each, can obtain a DAS (Diploma of Advanced Studies) in Public Administration worth 30 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System). In order to qualify for the DAS, students will have to fulfil the demands of the different core lessons, notably, to write a personal dissertation for one of the six modules.
The DAS is equivalent to the first-year programme of the MAS in Public Administration (MPA). However, holders of the DAS do not automatically gain the right of admission to the MAS, and they are subject to all the criteria and rules established for admission to the MAS. IDHEAP’s Committee on Continuing Education can decide to grant a certificate of equivalence for the ECTS credits gained during the DAS. Should the student eventually obtain an MPA, then the DAS certificate must be returned to IDHEAP.
