Preparation for the Goethe-Zertifikat C2 (Grosses Deutsches Sprachdiplom GDS)

This Goethe Institute examination has a writing component (listening, reading, writing – testing grammatical structures and vocabulary) and a speaking section.

Learning outcomes

  • Express one's ideas and opinions, defend a point of view on complex issues
  • Present a subject of general interest with great flexibility and in a well-structured way
  • Understand the gist, details and implicit meaning of complex spoken texts
  • Read complex texts for gist and detail, find specific and implicit information
  • Write an argumentative text on a subject of general interest, adapting it to the target readership and master written style
  • Be familiar with certain aspects of German culture
  • Apply strategies to improve learning and the taking of exams

fleche_petite_bleue.jpg This module allows learners to prepare for the Goethe Zertifikat C2 by working individually in the Multimedia Centre for Customised Learning (EMA), and also at home (for certain tasks).

It consists of:

  • 3 individual interviews per semester (1st and 3rd interview: 60 minutes; 2nd interview: 30 minutes) – or sessions in small groups
  • 1 period per week in the Multimedia Centre (more information>)
  • Personal work (standardized and personal tasks)

Pedagogical support includes:

  • The sessions (personal or in small groups), which serve to set up a study plan in accordance with your personal objectives and to provide both an intermediate and final assessment of your progress
  • Access to teacher input during the registered session in the Multimedia Centre
  • Online back-up via the PlurieL platform and/or email contact with your tutor

  • Although some of the tasks can be completed at home, those requiring access to multimedia material have to be done in the Multimedia Centre. (Anthropole 1060) – for copyright reasons
  • Learning through guided autonomy is an individual process. The role of your tutor is to guide you when planning and managing your study within the structure of the module.
