Learning outcomes

  • Read and analyse academic texts critically, paying particular attention to the logic of theories, methodology and argumentation
  • Identify conceptual errors in work, keeping in mind the scientific requirements of one's field
  • Identify and understand concepts and terminology generally used in a collection of scientific texts from one's field
  • Apply reading comprehension strategies as well as note-taking techniques
  • Identify the cultural differences which influence spoken and written communication
