WORKSHOP "Alpine ecology modelling workshop: European meet american researchers"
During a week, under the coordination of Dr. Christophe Randin, a youg postdoctoral fellow who recently left Lausanne for a stay at INSTAAR Colorado, scientists from the team of Prof. Antoine Guisan at the University of Lausanne met with a group of american scientists, from the teams of Prof. Mark Williams and Prof. William Bowman at INSTAAR Colorado. The workshop took place in Lausanne. Its main aim was to bring together spatial modelling approaches (UNIL) and process-based modelling (INSTAAR) of alpine ecosystems. Results will be used to better evaluate future global change impacts on the distribution of alpine plants in the Rocky Mountains and in the Alps. The workshop was fruitful and the two teams work now on common publications and analyses.
The two teams also took advantage of discussing the development of turning the Swiss alpine study area in the Alps near Lausanne (Anzeindaz and Pont-de-Nant) into a Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) site similar to the Niwot Ridge site managed by the Colorado colleagues.

WORKSHOP "UNIL hosts the second EUROMONT workshop"
The second EUROMONT workshop was again organized in Lausanne and hosted researchers working in various European mountain ranges, to continue discussing the impact of future climate change on the European alpine flora and comparing local views to pan-European projections obtained from spatial modelling of biodiversity

WORKSHOP "UNIL hosts the first EUROMONT workshop"
The EUROMONT workshop was organized in Lausanne and hosted researchers working in various European mountain ranges, to discuss the impact of future climate change on the European alpine flora and compare local views to pan-European projections obtained from spatial modelling of biodiversity.
The Workshop was organized by our ECOSPAT group at the Departement of Ecology and Evolution and sponsored by the Herbette Foundation at UNIL, the Faculty of Geoscience and the Environment of UNIL, and the Mountain Research Initiative (MRI).
