The Interdisciplinary Center for Mountain Research (CIRM) at the University of Lausanne (UNIL) is dedicated to enhancing knowledge about the specific challenges faced by mountain regions, such as climate change, economic vulnerability, and land development issues. These challenges are addressed through various methodological approaches that integrate natural sciences, social sciences, and health sciences. In this spirit, CIRM actively promotes interdisciplinary research within UNIL and collaborates with local communities and partners in the Vaud and Valais Alps, as well as the Vaud Jura.
To achieve its goals and mission, CIRM supports interdisciplinary research projects through various initiatives aimed at fostering a holistic understanding of mountain region challenges and strengthening the connections between the academic community and local stakeholders.
A document detailing the resources available to CIRM members and partners to assist them in launching their projects and conducting their research is now available.
