There are 25 modules which cover subject matter ranging from defining adolescence and overview of adolescent bio-psychosocial development to the design of youth friendly health services. Each module typically beings with an entry scenario. The entry scenario addresses a variety of issues and problems associated with the module topic. It may be used at the beginning of the course to stimulate participants to identify their own needs and interests. The results may then be utilized by the individual to assess their own learning processes, or be integrated with course objectives.
After the entry scenario, modules also have a short list of general goals for learners. These typically itemize the skills that participants should have acquired after completing the module.
Each module provides a set of objectives that focus mainly on the acquisition of specific knowledge, attitudes or skills. Depending on the nature of the objective, various educational approaches, with applied examples are provided (see the section on teaching methodology and teaching resources).
