My PhD focuses on deciphering molecular pathways involved in the pro-tumor transition of macrophages during bladder cancer development.
Background
I completed earned my Bachelor in Biology at the University of Lausanne. The main appeal of these studies lies in the variety of topics. Due to this diversity I chose to stay at the same university pursuing my Master in Medical Biology with a particular interest in immunology. For the realization of my master’s thesis, I joined the Verdeil Lab working on bladder cancer through the characterization of a new genetically engineered mouse model of bladder cancer. Thereafter, I performed an internship at AC Immune where I studied the immune response after active immunization in a Down syndrome mouse model. I returned to the laboratory of Dr Grégory Verdeil in October 2020.

Research interest
I am interested in the characterization of the immune microenvironment in bladder cancer and how it can affect current therapeutic responses in order to develop new immunotherapeutic strategies.
Background
I completed my biology undergraduate degree at the University of Caen (France) and at the University of Portsmouth (UK, as an Erasmus student). During my master’s thesis and my PhD at the University of Caen, I worked on macrophages in brain tumors. I then joined the laboratory of Dr Grégory Verdeil as a post-doc for four years to work on the immune microenvironment of bladder cancer. I went back to Caen for one year as a teaching assistant where I studied the inflammatory response after radiotherapy. I returned to the Verdeil Lab as Research Associate in September 2022.

My research is focused on discovering the mechanisms that are driving resistance to classical immunotherapy in bladder cancer in order to develop new therapeutic strategies for this disease.
During my master’s degree at the Magistère Européen de Génétique (University Paris Diderot), I completed a 5-month internship in the laboratory of Prof. M. Roussel at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis (USA), focusing on clinically relevant radiation therapy in patient-derived xenografts of high-risk medulloblastoma. Following that, I pursued my PhD in Prof. A. Dejean’s group at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, where I investigated the role of SUMO in chromatin and its implications in innate immunity, cancer immunotherapy, and muscle regeneration. I joined Dr. Grégory Verdeil's laboratory in June 2023 as a postdoctoral researcher.

Research interest
My research interest is directed towards CD8 T cell dysfunction in the context of cancer. In particular, my PhD focuses on how CD8 T cell exhaustion is regulated in the tumor microenvironment.
Background
I obtained my Bachelor in Biology and my Master in Medical Biology at the University of Lausanne, with a focus on cancer immunology. After having completed my master's project on “Tumor-driven CD8 T Cell Exhaustion” in Dr Grégory Verdeil’s lab, I joined the group in April 2022 for my PhD Thesis.

My current research focus is on Molecular bases of T-cell dysfunction in the tumor microenvironment. We are focussing on cellular and molecular mechanism that inner CD8 cell exhaustion, in order to further understand this cell response and potentially identify therapeutic targets.
I obtained my PhD from The university Paris Cité with Dr.Sven Kracker working in the human lymphohematopoiesis lab in Imagine Institute. The aim of our research was to describe the physiopathological mécanisme involved in Primary Immuno Deficiencies (PIDs). During my PhD I characterized new IRF4 variants identified in patients presenting with PIDs, with the use of various technics to analyze chromatin interaction such as CHIP Seq or RIME. I joined the Verdeil's Lab in September 2023.

My research interest lies in understanding the complex crosstalk between immune and cancer cells in the tumor microenvironment. In this scenario, my PhD project aims to investigate how radiotherapy and immune checkpoint blockades impact the bladder cancer microenvironment, with the ultimate goal of developing novel therapeutic approaches.
I completed my Bachelor in Biotechnology and my Master in Medical Biotechnology at the University of Trieste (Italy). For my master thesis project I moved to Karolinska Institutet (Sweden) where I worked on a primary immunodeficiency, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome, focusing on the impaired role of megakaryocytes and platelets and their actin cytoskeleton. I joined Verdeil lab in January 2024.
