AAI (Authentication and Authorization Infrastructure) is an authentication and authorization service provided in partnership with SWITCH, which simplifies access to IT resources between universities and colleges that are members of the SWITCHaai and eduGAIN federations.
UNIL's AD (Active Directory) and LDAP provide centralised identification and authentication services. The service can also be used to administer IT equipment. For specific uses, you can ask to connect your machine to AD.
The University of Lausanne legitimation card allows you to take advantage of several functions. It is simultaneously a legitimation card, a reader's card for the libraries, an electronic purse, an access card to buildings and offices and can be used to access numerous services, including printing services.
An IT account, provided by the IT Centre, consists of a user name and password. These keys allow access to the institution's various IT resources (email, web portal, intranet, servers, etc.). The account must be activated before the keys can be used.
Available via the UNIL administrative intranet, the group management service allows UNIL employees to create and manage groups of people. These groups can be used to manage an email list, a list of postal addresses or to restrict access to services requiring authentication.
