Any machine purchased via the central purchasing unit can benefit from the ‘mobile’ help desk service, which can install, configure and transfer data to the new computer.
The help desk hotline provides an IT support service to UNIL members by telephone, e-mail or remote assistance. It is the first service to contact: if it cannot provide an immediate solution, it will follow up the request.
The help desk has an IT desk that allows members of the university community to take advantage of a free service for private machines. Within the limits of its capacity, the help desk will analyse the problem and, if possible, resolve it.
Any machine purchased via the central purchasing unit can benefit from the ‘mobile’ help desk service (workstation installation, data migration, problem resolution and queries, etc.). If the hotline's remote assistance cannot solve your problem, the intervention is transferred to the mobile service, which comes to your place of work.
UNIL students who have entrusted a machine to the help desk for long-term repairs may, on request and subject to stock availability, benefit from a loan laptop.
