Data storage @ UNIL: a tool for choosing the right service

UNIL offers many different storage services to meet all the needs of its community, in compliance with internal rules and current legislation. Choose the service you need in just a few minutes.

Database hosting (in French)

You can host certain databases in our data centres. This includes FileMaker Pro databases or more complex databases (Oracle, MySQL, MsSQL, MariaDB). Each request is studied for feasibility on a case-by-case basis.

Physical server hosting (in French)

If a virtual server is not possible, you can request the hosting of the server or other equipment in our secure UNIL Datacenter. The service also includes network connections (cabling) and power supply.

Virtual machines (VMs) outside research (in French)

If you would like to host a virtual machine in our secure UNIL data centres, you can submit your request online.

Non-research data storage (in French)

If you would like to store your unstructured administrative or teaching data on a secure UNIL file server (NAS), you can submit your request online.

Stockage de données de recherche / Research data storage (in French)

The IT Centre provides the scientific community with storage environments with various characteristics (format, level of security, etc.). Requests for access to this service can be made online.

File synchronisation (in French)

UNIL offers you a cloud service for storing, exchanging, sharing and synchronising files between several devices (alternative to Dropbox). Your data is stored in the Cloud in Switzerland. This service is ideal for synchronising your files and collaborating with your colleagues.

UNIL Kubernetes Service (in French)

Through its UKS service, the IT Centre makes Kubernetes clusters available to individuals, groups and faculties at the University of Lausanne who wish to make applications or other web services available, whether for internal or external services at the university.
