You can apply for a partial leave of absence, full leave of absence or withdrawal to suspend your studies.
Leave of absence
For a temporary suspension of your studies, you can choose between a restricted leave of absence or a full leave of absence. For further details, please refer to the Leave of Absence Request Form, which should be completed and sent to HECbachelor@unil.ch.
Deadlines
- September 30 for the fall semester
- February 28 for the spring semester
Request for withdrawal
If your studies are temporarily or permanently suspended, you can apply for withdrawal. Please complete this form and send it to UNIL's Admissions Unit (SII) according to the instructions given. If you have any questions, please write directly to immat.bachelor@unil.ch.
Deadlines
- October 15 for the fall semester
- March 15 for the spring semester
Order your certificate
Have you just passed your final exams? Order your Bachelor's certificate during the relevant period for your graduation. Certificates are sent by post.
Ordering periods for your degree certificate:
- Winter session: February 15 to March 15
- Summer session: July 15 to August 15
- Fall session: September 15 to October 15
Please note: to order your certificate, your transcript must indicate that you have successfully completed your course.

Postponing your military or civilian service
If you need to postpone your military service, please fill in the "Request for Service Postponement" form for military personnel who are studying. Once completed, send it to HECbachelor@unil.ch for authorization. Once your request has been authorized, HEC Lausanne will return the form to you so that you can send it to the appropriate military authority.
