Pascal Tanner is a doctor in sociology and an SNF Senior Associate Researcher in the projects "The spiritual and religious dimension and the quality of life and well-being of seniors living at home" and "Religion and spirituality of seniors in times of COVID", which are carried out in collaboration with the University Hospital of Vaud (CHUV). Previously, he obtained his doctorate in sociology at the University of Lausanne on the topic of secular movements in Switzerland. He studied sociology and cultural studies in Lucerne (Master) and linguistics in Winterthur (Bachelor).
