Sara Carsanaro is a biocurator and bioinformatician for Bgee (https://bgee.org ), a database to perform high-throughput and automated comparisons of gene expression patterns between species.
She obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Genetics, Genomics and Development from the University of California, Berkeley in 2015, followed by a Master's degree in Bioinformatics from Johns Hopkins University in 2022.
Before joining the Bgee team, she worked clinical variant scientist and product manager at Tempus, where she classified clinical variants and developed workflows to streamline and automate the classification process.
Her research interests include transcriptomics, genetic variation, and computational analysis of biological data.
