Universities are a powerful engine of innovation and change that are ideally placed to instill the desire for entrepreneurship to their students and to all members of their community. The development of an entrepreneurial spirit is therefore one of the strategic priorities of the UNIL Direction.

The central element of the entrepreneurial spirit support system is the HUB Entrepreneurship and Innovation of UNIL launched in June 2019. The HUB serves the needs of the entire community ; students, researchers and professors from the 7 faculties of UNIL as well as employees and alumni.

The mission of the HUB is to enhance entrepreneurial spirit across UNIL so that our graduates and community can contribute in a relevant and meaningful way to our region and to the future of our society.

The promotion of the entrepreneurial spirit is based on 4 fundamental values ; contribution, interdisciplinarity, diversity and collaboration. Therefore UNIL supports a vision of entrepreneurship at the service of a sustainable future.

The HUB Entrepreneurship and Innovation reports to the Direction of UNIL through a Vice Rector. Its governance consists of an Advisory Board, composed of a professor from each faculty, and a Student Advisory Board, composed of the presidents of the main student associations of each faculty interested in supporting the mission of the HUB.

Inspire	Educate	Activate

• The « Inspire » pillar is for the UNIL community. Its objective is to foster and nurture entrepreneurial vocations.
• The « Educate » pillar targets UNIL students. Its objective is to encourage an offer of optional courses for Bachelor and Master level students from all interested faculties. The offer is based on an interdisciplinary education and focused on sustainable entrepreneurship and social innovation.
• The « Activate » pillar targets all project leaders. The objective is to support ideas and projects aligned with the values of the Institution. Projects that have a social and environmental impact are therefore favored. (Visit ucreate.ch). 

The HUB also relies on existing structures to fulfill its mission with partnerships and collaboration with the ecosystem of regional and Swiss entrepreneurship and innovation. See the list of partners under the "partners" tab.
