Conference participation

This category of funding support enables UNIL researchers to participate in scientific conferences (national or international) in order to present the results of their research.

The following are eligible:

• Doctoral students, MA post-doctoral fellows, and first assistants

The following are not eligible:

• PO (Full Professor), PA (Associate Professor), MER (Senior Lecturer), Past (Assistant Professor), Past-PTC (Assistant Professor – Adjunct Lecturer), MA-Ambizione (Ambizione Teaching Fellow), professors who currently have SNF funding, teaching fellows, administrative and technical personnell, privat-docents, and deputies.
• Researchers whose requests entail only the participation in a convention, without a poster or oral presentation.
• Researchers who currently have SNF funding, or have been hired through a SNF project.

To keep in mind:

• Only a single request may be made per institute and per event
• Applicants must wait five years between funding requests made in the same category
• Requests cannot be made for events that have already taken place or are currently underway.

The Foundation does not fund salaries, working costs, or ongoing maintenance costs connected to submitted projects.

The candidate is responsible for requesting other funding in parallel.

For a request of equal to or less than CHF 3'000.-:

• Submit online before the 25th of the month
• Response time: 6 to 8 weeks starting from the 25th of the month

For a request of more than CHF 3'000.-:

• Submit online before:
  • February 20
  • May 5
  • October 1
• Response time: 6 to 8 weeks after these set dates

The following documents must be uploaded in PDF form during the online application process:

• Letter of Motivation (1-page, A4) summarizing the targeted goals,
• A CV with a list of publications
• A summary of the presentation or the poster
• Certificate of acceptance of the presentation or the poster
• Two letters of recommendation

The Foundation must receive a 2-page scientific report and a financial report, with supporting documents, by the deadline mentioned in the award letter.

The grant recipient agrees to thank the Foundation and/or include its logo on all documents published as a result of the Foundation’s support.
