Open research Data

Research data is an institutional heritage and a common good whose management - in the short, medium and long term - raises many scientific, ethical, deontological, legal, technical, technical, economic and societal issues.

This management is essential and crucial in many ways :

• it ensures compliance with the legal and regulatory framework as well as the requirements of scientific funders and publishers;
• it guarantees the authenticity, integrity, reliability and usability of the data;
• it facilitates reproducibility, sharing and reuse;
• finally, it makes research work and results more visible and contributes to the quality of research.

According to the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), open access to research data is based on the idea that sharing research data makes an essential contribution to scientific research in terms of impact, transparency and reproducibility.

UNIL considers Open research Data not as unlimited access to the material itself, but as open access as possible and as closed and protected as ethics and the law require.

This site presents the challenges of research data management and their complexity. It aims to provide a certain amount of information and support in order to provide the UNIL community with the necessary tools for integrated and responsible data management.
