Children's Hospital building works
Building work on the Children’s Hospital, which is due to open in 2023 in the heart of the CHUV hospital complex, began on 21 May 2019. The work involves numerous changes to road and pedestrian traffic routes around the esplanade of the main hospital building and the metro station. The "Live works" page provides continuously updated information on the progress of the works and any disruptions.
A 150-metre walkway, suitable for people with reduced mobility, along rue du Bugnon and part of the esplanade, has been set up to provide a safe walking route for pedestrians and keep them away from road traffic (vehicles related to the building work and users of CHUV). Other users with limited mobility who need to access the buildings on rue du Bugnon numbers 17 to 27, and number 44 (Emergencies) should use the western pavement, opposite the esplanade.
The esplanade will remain accessible to motorists throughout the works.
