Training and Workshops
UNIL provides internal and external support for training for academics, helping you to improve your teaching and research skills as well as to prepare for applications. Transferable (or “generic”) skills are not just for a non-academic career! Funding applications, research management and publication processes can be greatly helped by training in project management for research, teamwork and leadership skills, or in negotiating.
There's a wide range of support for you in terms of training and counseling:
- The Graduate Campus workshops.
- The PROWD Program that support women’s careers (UNIL Equal Opportunities Office).
- Our institutional partners: The CUSO Transversal Programme as well as programmes to support women's careers such as Réseau romand de mentoring pour femmes and The Regard Program.
Funding
For funding opportunities, please consult the UNIL Research Support website. See also the following page which presents the possibilities of SNSF grants, including Ambizione grants which aim to support young researchers who wish to conduct, manage and lead an independent project at a Swiss higher education institution.
For women researchers, the SNSF's PRIMA grants and the UNIL's "Tremplin" grants are intended to increase the number of women likely to submit an application for a professorship.
Opportunities
Euraxess for research opportunities across European Research Area
MyScience for opportunities in research
This list is far from exhaustive! Find out from others in your disciplinary area where the best boards are, such as through professional associations.
