Proxima is a rolling call for projects aimed at researchers, UNIL departments and external partners. This instrument supports and encourages spontaneous initiatives by researchers and their partners, as well as their interests and established collaborations. It provides an easy point of contact and enables us to respond regularly to requests from civil society by matching them with UNIL researchers, and vice versa.
Applicants can submit projects throughout the year, with no fixed deadline. Projects can last between 6 and 24 months. A selection committee meets every 6 weeks to evaluate applications. Selection committees are made up of two strategic experts (members of the Interface Steering Committee), and three scientific experts from UNIL faculties. The maximum budget per project is CHF 50,000, UNIL share. Co-funding by external partners is encouraged.
Synergo is a one-off call for projects in collaboration with an institutional partner. The call may be thematic or non-thematic, depending on the interests and needs of the partner. It enables us to structure our network of research partnerships, extend UNIL's geographical reach and diversify our partners' profiles.
Several calls for Synergo projects can be launched each year, with different institutional partners. Projects can last between 6 and 18 months. A joint jury of UNIL and external partners specializing in the identified theme is set up.Synergo is financed by a joint fund between UNIL and the institutional partner.
Volteface is a thematic research program. Calls for projects focus on the major societal issues identified by UNIL management in its plan of intent - Health, Digital and EDI (Equality, Diversity, Inclusion). This instrument provides an opportunity for in-depth, multi-partner treatment of a theme. It also raises the profile of the UNIL community's expertise in the themes covered by the plan d'intention, and encourages its involvement in research on these themes. It also supports the management in the development of research carried out in the areas covered by its plan of intent.Projects can last between 6 and 18 months. A joint jury of UNIL and external partners specializing in the identified theme is set up.
Confluence is a workshop for the reception, formulation and orientation of social demand. It takes place throughout the year and is aimed at UNIL Master's students and external partners.
In collaboration with the Faculties, this program promotes partnership research practices among students and their teachers, as well as external partners. It enables students to experience the role of expert in real-life conditions, during the production of their Master's thesis, thus facilitating their professional integration. Projects can last from 6 to 18 months.
Projects are supported up to a maximum of CHF 5,000.
